Purpose Before Process

Tell us how the finished steelwork will be used. Loads, access and working conditions shape the specification.

02

Details Before Manufacture

Clear drawings, agreed materials and defined responsibilities help turn an outline into a workable package.

03

A Scope You Can Compare

Understand what is included, from protective finishes to delivery, installation and project documentation.

03 / How It Works

From first thought to an agreed plan.

Start with your project
  1. 01

    Share The Requirement

A drawing, measured sketch or a clear description. Tell us what the steelwork needs to do and where it will be used.

Agree dimensions, design responsibility, materials, finish and whether the scope includes installation.

  3. 03

    Plan The Work

Review the quotation, approvals and programme. Confirm the delivery and site arrangements before work begins.

05 / Useful To Know

A few good questions.

All your questions
What Should I Send With A Steelwork Enquiry?

A steelwork enquiry is easier to assess with drawings, dimensions, quantity, location and the intended use. Include the required material and finish if known, plus access restrictions and your programme. Say which details are still provisional so an early budget can be distinguished from a quotation based on approved fabrication information.

How Much Does Steel Fabrication Cost?

Steel fabrication cost depends on material, quantity, connection details, cutting, forming, welding, finishing and inspection. Delivery and installation can add separate requirements for lifting and access. A drawing-based quotation should identify assumptions and exclusions, so compare the complete scope rather than relying on a price per item or estimated steel weight.

Do I Need Structural Calculations Before Fabrication?

Structural calculations are needed where the project’s designer requires them to establish loads, member sizes and connections. A fabrication drawing does not replace structural design. You can make an initial enquiry with outline information, but the required design and approvals should be settled before loadbearing components are released for manufacture.

Can You Arrange A Particular Steel Finish?

A steel finish should be specified around the environment, required appearance and maintenance plan. Paint systems, galvanising and stainless finishes have different detailing and preparation needs. Describe weather exposure, cleaning and impact risks, then agree the written finish specification and any sample before production so the quotation reflects the intended result.
